The heat of the summer is in full swing and we are starting to see more wildfires. Chukar and quail chicks are out and it looks like we will have another excellent year for upland birds here in Eastern Oregon. This is the 3rd consecutive year we have had above average precipitation and its really showing. The habitat is looking great! Sage grouse numbers are also the highest they have been in 20 years. With the high water we should have some great waterfowl hunting as well. If you are planning to hunt from our Burns location there will be some great opportunities for pheasants and waterfowl.
